Women's Ministry Study Notes

My journey into my role as a woman has evolved over the years of my life and I pray that it continues to evolve. My verse for this journey is:

"Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— 4 but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. 5 For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands,"

If you will allow me to expound and to invite you to travel with me for a few minutes. I was born into this world as a precious baby girl. The first for many adults in my life, the first child, first daughter for my parents, first grand-daughter to both grandparents. I do not remember, but I can only image how my birth was celebrated.

Then as my understanding of my role as a girl was developing I can remember many times that I was unsure of myself. I can remember in elementary school punching a boy in the face because he told me he didn't love me anymore. At that age, love was so under-defined. I can also remember winning the kissing contest at wayyyyy to young an age to be kissing boys (I proudly told my mom, who was not impressed). Then came the middle school years. I was a very thin and underdeveloped girl (a blessing and a curse). I can remember hoping to always have a boyfriend, somehow at this impressionable age having a boyfriend meant I was validated as a female.

I now know, how that scheme of the enemy is such a lie! The enemy of our life, Satan, tries to get us, women, to see our value through the relationship with men instead of through our Creator. When he can convince us, our hearts will only be whole through earthly relationships, then we spend our efforts on seeking the counterfeit instead of true fulfillment. I can remember praying for boyfriends, praying I would get asked to the "big" dances…Proms. I can remember hoping to be asked to dance as a young adult. I love to dance and now the dance of my life is being led by my Father God and he has graciously given me a dance partner here on earth to lead me and encouragement in my beautiful role as a woman.

Over the years of my life, my identity as a daughter of the Living King of Kings, as royalty, has been marred by the battlefield. If you, as a woman, are unaware of the attack of the enemy let me help expose his consistent and predictable plan.  By the way, it has not changed since the Garden of Eden. He wants to divide us, our relationship with God, and our relationship with our husband.

My desire is to help women recover and reconcile their relationships with themselves and recover and reconcile their relationships with God and recover and reconcile their relationship within their marriages. It's a BIG desire but I serve a BIG God!
